is the best way to assure that you'll received email?
The
best way to assure yourself that you'll receive email is to find a few
pen pals at Write a Senior Citizen that seem interesting to you and make
contact with them by sending them an email first.

is Write a Senior Citizen all about?
The
goal of this site is to provide an opportunity for Senior Citizens to
be able to obtain pen pals from around the world, receive birthday cards
and have something special to look forward to. This program has
brought cheer, friendship and diversion to this terrific generation to

This site
is being maintained by us as a non-profit community outreach program.
As such, we receive no income or profit by keeping it going, other than
the satisfaction of knowing that lives are being touched as a result
of our efforts.

Is
there any cost to join Write a Senior Citizen?
This site
and its service are being provided free of charge to all of its users.
There is no cost to you to participate as either a Senior Citizen Pen
Pen Pal or anyone writing to them.
How
old do I need to be to participate?
To have
a page on Write a Senior Citizen, you need to be at least 55 years of
age or older. All others are invited to participate with us by becoming
a pen pal with our seniors.
How
does one sign up?
You
can go to our Sign-Up page or email
us directly.
How
much information do I need to submit?
Please
provide as much information as you feel comfortable sharing. However,
submitting more detailed information will enable us to create a better
Pen Pal web page for you.
Is
a picture required?
A
picture is not required. However, it makes your Pen Pal page much
nicer and gives your Pen Pals a better feel for who you are. You
can either email
us a scanned image in jpeg format (72 dpi resolution please), or mail
us a snapshot via US Mail. We'll scan the photo ourselves.
Sorry, photos will not be returned due to the costs involved.
Is
an email address required? I don't have one.
Yes,
an email address is required. Please be advised that pages with an
invalid or non-working email address will not be posted. Previously posted
pages with an invalid email address will be removed once the invalid email
address is discovered.
If you don't
have an email account, we suggest using a free web-based email
service such as Hotmail.
Hotmail is also a great service to use just for this type of site if you
don't want other people to have your real email address. We highly recommend

What
do I do if I receive inappropriate email?
Please
contact us immediately
if you feel that anyone is abusing this site or if you believe you are
receiving inappropriate email as a result of your page at Write a Senior
Citizen. While we have no control over the conduct of people on
the internet and shall have no liability in this regard, we shall certainly
remove your email address and page at your request. Use our >Change
Page to change or delete your personal page. Please read our >Disclaimer
and Conditions of Use page.
I
sent an email to one of your pen pals, but it came back.
Some
email addresses at Write a Senior Citizen may no longer be valid or used
by the person who submitted their information. This is beyond our control.
You should try emailing someone else, as we try to verify email addresses
periodically, and most are valid. If you find a Pen Pal page with an invalid
email addres, please let us know and we will remove the Pen Pal page in
question.
Will
you keep my personal information confidential?
We
promise not to sell or distribute any of the information or email addresses
that you provide, and that may be posted on this site, other than in the
situations that may arise under our >Privacy Policy.
However, please be advised that the mere posting of an email or postal
address or other information on this site will make it visible to others
who might utilize this information for other purposes without our permission.
We have no control over their activity and shall not be liable or responsible
for their use or misuse of this information.
By signing
up to be a Write a Senior Citizen Pen Pal, you will automatically be placed
on our mailing list to receive periodic email updates from us regarding
this site. You can be removed at any time by sending us an email
with the word "unsubscribe" in the subject line.
How
do I update or delete my page, or change my email address?
If
you need to change your email address, or would like your page changed
or deleted, use our >Change form.
Please be advised that pages with an invalid email address will not
be posted. Previously posted pages with an invalid email address will
be removed once the invalid email address is discovered.
What
can be done if I'm not receiving any email from my page?
Let
us know if your page is not generating any pen pals for you and we will
try to highlight it. Also, you may want to add some additional information
to your page regarding your special interests. The search engine looks
for these things when a search is performed. Contact
us for help in this area. Finally, the absolute best way to assure
yourself that you'll receive email is to find a few pen pals at Write
a Senior Citizen that seem interesting to you and make contact with them
by sending them an email first. Also, please check the email address
on your page to make sure it is correct. Previously posted pages with
invalid email addresses will be removed once the invalid email address
is discovered.
