Peshawar: The centuries-old Greek sport of archery has found renewed popularity across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to the province’s Sports Board’s 464th meeting, this ancient discipline is being actively promoted as both a physical activity and a preservation of cultural heritage.

Institutions including schools and colleges have begun offering archery training, while district and provincial competitions are being organized regularly. To boost access and participation, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has allocated dedicated funds for building archery ranges and procuring equipment.

In addition to facilities, awareness campaigns are being rolled out via media and public platforms. Officials state that archery benefits both mental focus and physical well-being — and it is hoped that it will continue growing in popularity throughout the region.
