Talpur Tombs in Hyderabad
The Tombs of the Talpur Mirs, also known as "Miran Ja Qubba", are a historic group of mausoleums located in, Hyderabad, Sindh. These tombs belong to the Talpur rulers of Sindh, who governed Sindh from 1784 until the British annexation in 1843. The complex features beautifully built marble, stone and teracotta tiled structures adorned with Quranic inscriptions, Persian poetry, and delicate Sindhi tilework in blue floral patterns. The tombs include prominent Talpur leaders such as Mir Karam Ali Khan Talpur and Mir Murad Ali Khan Talpur, along with smaller structures for their family members. Female tombs are uniquely built with Jali (lattice) screens to honor the tradition of purdah.
Over time, the site suffered from neglect and encroachment, but in recent years, major restoration efforts have been carried out by the Endowment Fund Trust for Preservation of Heritage of Sindh and the Culture Department, Government of Sindh. These efforts include structural reinforcement, restoration of decorative tilework, and preservation of inscriptions, ensuring the tombs continue to represent the cultural and architectural legacy of the Talpur dynasty.

The Shahi Bazaar of Hyderabad, Sindh, is one of the oldest and most vibrant marketplaces in Pakistan, stretching from Pacco Qillo (the old fort) to Market Tower, also known as the Clock Tower, which was built in 1913 during British rule. This iconic tower stands prominently at the heart of the city, serving as both a historical landmark and a meeting point for generations. The bazaar itself is a school of colors, with a lively blend of textiles, bangles, spices, handicrafts, and daily wares. Bhit Shah & Shah Abdul Latif
Bhit Shah, located about 40 kilometers from Hyderabad in Sindh, is a revered spiritual and cultural center, famous as the shrine of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, one of Sindh’s greatest Sufi poets and mystics. Shah Abdul Latif (1689–1752) composed the “Shah Jo Risalo,” a masterpiece of Sindhi literature that beautifully blends poetry, music, and philosophy to explore themes of divine love, human unity, and the mysticism of everyday life.
Bhit Shah is not only a pilgrimage site for devotees seeking spiritual solace but also a vibrant hub for cultural celebrations, especially during the annual Urs festival, which draws thousands of visitors from across Pakistan and beyond. The shrine complex itself features traditional Sindhi architecture with intricate tile work, and the peaceful surroundings reflect the poet’s deep connection to nature and the local landscape. Bhit Shah remains a living symbol of Sindh’s rich spiritual heritage, inspiring generations with Shah Abdul Latif’s timeless message of love, tolerance, and harmony.
At the shrine, visitors can experience the soulful live singing of Shah Abdul Latif’s Waiis—poetic hymns accompanied by the damburo, a unique string instrument believed to have been invented by Shah Saeen himself. These performances create an immersive atmosphere that brings the poet’s mystic verses and spiritual messages vividly to life, connecting pilgrims and tourists alike with the timeless essence of Sindhi Sufi tradition.
