Mushkpuri Top – A Hidden Gem of Galiyat, Pakistan

Mushkpuri Top

Mushkpuri Top is one of the most beautiful and famous mountain peaks in the Galiyat region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Located near Nathiagali, it is well known for its lush green hiking trails, peaceful forests, and breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.

The Hiking Experience

The journey to Mushkpuri begins at the winding roads of Nathiagali, where a narrow forest trail leads upward into dense greenery. The moment you step onto the track, the noise of the city disappears completely. You are left only with the sound of birds and the crunch of dry leaves under your feet.

As you move deeper into the forest, sunlight filters through tall pine trees, creating golden patterns on the ground. The air becomes cooler and fresher with every step. On one side of the trail, deep valleys open up where clouds float like soft cotton.

Small natural springs appear along the way, offering ice-cold drinking water. The silence and peace of this route make you feel deeply connected to nature.

After about 1.5 to 2 hours of hiking, a steep climb challenges your stamina. However, this is the point where the first glimpse of the summit begins to appear. The forest gradually disappears, replaced by open grassy slopes and refreshing winds.

Mushkpuri Top (9,452 ft)

When you finally reach Mushkpuri Top at approximately 9,452 feet, it feels like standing on the roof of the world.

The summit is a vast green carpet covered with wildflowers. On clear days, you can see:

  • Kashmir’s snow-covered peaks in the distance
  • Jhelum River flowing like a silver ribbon
  • Murree Hills and Abbottabad valleys
  • Circle Bakote region and surrounding forests

At sunset, the sky transforms into shades of orange, pink, and purple, creating a magical painting-like view.

At night, if you camp here, the sky becomes crystal clear and full of stars due to zero pollution.
