Beshsam is small town along the famous Karakorum Highway. Besham is the central market point for people from all over the Kohistan & Shangla districts. In summer Besham is the centre of international and national holiday makers who stop by here to further continue their journey to Northern areas of Pakistan. Besham has got a few good hotels including PTDC Motel, Besham Continental Hotel, Hotel Paris and many more. People in this small town are friendly and hospitable. There is a civil hospital and Christian hospital in the town.
Islamabad - Besham 275 Kilometers usually takes 8 - 9 Hours with stops at Abbottabad & Taxila road is pretty good Specially after Abbottabad there are great views of rice and maize (Corn) fields on the terraced lands. Mountains start growing higher after Thakot where you meet the river Indus. Besham is a small town located at the bank of River Indus. It is the first main town on Karakorum Highway.
